Lake Delton Visits Evacuated Saturday Due To Suspicious Object

The discovery of a suspicious object on the shoulder of a street in Lake Delton led to evacuations Saturday evening.  A witness reported the cylinder-shaped object shortly before 5:30 PM.  Using a robot the Dane County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene and determined the object wasn’t an explosive.  Closer examination found the object to be what is called a Sizing Spray Unit containing starch to stiffen fabrics.
