The State Department of Natural Resources’ Bureau of Law Enforcement is seeking the public’s help with information related to the illegal shooting of a bald eagle in Mishicot. Conservation Warden Alyssa Neff-Miller says the initial report of an injured eagle came inĀ on December 7th by private landowners in the Village of Mishicot off Randolph Street. The bird flew away and was spotted at a nearby property the following day. The eagle was rescued by Wildlife of Wisconsin and taken to their Manitowoc County facility for treatment where it died from its injuries. An examination determined the eagle had injuries consistent with being shot and may have been feeding at one of the nearby rivers prior to being shot. Any information that may be related to this crime can be reported to the WDNR violation hotline at 800-847-9367 or call or text (608) 209-8147.
