Young Mother On Trial For Murder In Her Baby’s Death

The prosecution is presenting its case against a 21-year-old mother accused of murder in her baby’s death.  Cheyanne Harris’ four-month-old son was found dead in a swing in her Alta Vista apartment bedroom.  Emergency responders said Sterling Koehn’s diaper was infested with maggots.  The autopsy showed he died of malnutrition, dehydration and an E. coli infection caused by wearing the diapers for about two weeks.  The trial is being held in Plymouth County Circuit Court on a change of venue from Chickasaw County.
