The City of Sun Prairie has filed a second lawsuit over the fatal explosion last summer which killed a firefighter and destroyed a half-block of its downtown area. Firefighter Corey Barr’s widow filed the first suit last month. Sun Prairie is suing V-C Tech and Bear Communications, saying both companies failed to locate the natural gas line which caused the explosion. Bear is accused of failing to verify that V-C Tech was licensed and that the area’s underground utilities had been properly marked. The lawsuit asks the court for unspecified damages and costs.
