The biggest winter storm of the season to hit the lakeshore area is causing major problems on the roadways this morning. Manitowoc County Highway Commissioner, Marc Holsen, tells Seehafer News.
Holsen said as of 5:30am we had between 4 to 5 inches of wind-driven snow with the expectation of about ‘9’ inches total by 4:00 o’clock this afternoon. The Highway Commissioner also spoke about the amount of equipment committed to this Storm overnight.
Holsen was also asked about the colder temperatures that are expected on the heals of the snowfall.
Marc Holsen says if motorists absolutely must get out there this morning, always allow for extra time slow down pay attention to your surroundings and if you approach a plow unit and state law says “stay back at least 200-feet on roads with a posted speed limit of 35mph or greater.” Click here for the latest cancellations.
