With today being labeled Data Privacy Day, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has issued a few tips on how you can lessen your “digital footprint” online. You are encouraged to close any accounts that you no longer use, whether it be on Facebook, any email accounts or anything in between. Always be careful with what information you chose to share online, and stop offering more than is required for the sign-up process. As far as your phone is concerned, you are encouraged to delete any apps that you no longer use. You are also being encouraged to look through which apps have permission to use your personal info from your social media accounts. Follow these steps, and you will make it more difficult for scammers to get a hold of your information.
