Falling Temperatures and increased sustained winds of 15 to 25 miles-per-hour will affect all of Wisconsin for the next several days. Daytime highs are expected to barely get above zero with low temperatures ranging from 5 to 15 below zero producing wind chills of 25 to 35 degrees below zero. Dr. Corrigan says the first and perhaps most important step is to dress appropriately in layers.
Frostbite can occur in as little as 10 to 20 minutes. Initial symptoms are a loss of feeling with a white or pale appearance to the extremities, which may be accompanied by pain. Another concern, hypothermia.

Other health tips include limiting your time outdoors, don’t overexert yourself especially if you’re not used to daily physical activity, drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet and get plenty of rest to help support a healthy immune system.
