Officials at Madison West High School say a substitute teacher is banned for using a racial slur. Parents were informed of the incident in a letter from Principal Karen Boran. Two other teachers — one at West and one at Madison East — were removed from classrooms in November for allegedly using racial slurs. A teacher at Velma Hamilton Middle School resigned in the same month after she was accused of yelling the N-word at a 12-year-old student.
