Assembly Republicans in the State legislature announced a plan this morning calling for a tax cut for middle-class families. Manitowoc 25th District Assemblyman Paul Tittl said thanks to eight years of a strong economy in Wisconsin…there’s a large surplus in state coffers.
Tittl tells Seehafer News their plan, unveiled during a series of press conferences around the state, is to provide a $3-hundred-40-million dollar tax break.
Tittl says “the great thing about this” is it accomplishes a tax reduction without affecting a major tax credit.
New Governor Tony Evers stated during his campaign that he wants to cut income taxes by ‘10’ percent for the middle class, but wants to pay for it by scaling-back a corporate tax break majority Republicans want to retain. Representative Tittl said he’s hopeful of getting bipartisan support on the tax cut plan. The bill will be drafted and released to the public next week when more specifics will be given.
