Despite the federal government shutdown the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced today that funding for February benefits will be available for those who rely on government assistance to buy food. This will affect current FoodShare members, those participating in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). DHS Secretary-Designee Andrea Palm says that “Our top priority is to ensure the needs of Wisconsin residents are met and to share information with members, partners, and stakeholders as the situation evolves.”
