Bail was set at $2000 recognizance bond for a 59-year-old Two Rivers man in connection with an incident at a southside city residence late last Friday night. Eric J. Wilda is charged with felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon—a misdemeanor.
Police responded to a call for a report of a suicidal male (Wilda). As they attempted to negotiate with Wilda to exit the residence, a shot was fired within the home. Law enforcement set up a perimeter and began negotiating with the suspect. He finally complied, exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. His 38-year-old son Kurt A. Wilda, along with a 42-year-old Two Rivers woman whose identity was not given, was taken into custody after becoming uncooperative during the investigation. Kurt Wilda is out on bail and charged with resisting an Officer while the female suspect is expected to have misdemeanor charges of resisting and obstructing an officer referred to the County District Attorney’s Office.
Conditions of Eric Wilda’s bail are that he is not to possess any firearm—have no contact with Kurt Wilda or the residence—maintain absolute sobriety and provide photos and prints to the Two Rivers Police Department. His initial appearance is scheduled for February 18th at 1:30.
