It feels like the 1980’s again. The president of the United States first came to prominence as a celebrity, and gas prices are below $2 per gallon. In North East Wisconsin, prices are sitting right around the $2 mark, with most Manitowoc stations sitting at $1.99. The cheapest in the state is in Muskego, where prices are as low as $1.69 per gallon. While this is a nice change of pace, the price is expected to rise again, with a peak in May. The national average is expected to be somewhere in the ballpark if $2.72 and $3.22 per gallon. That being said, the average U.S. household is expected to spend significantly less on gas this calendar year, with GasBuddy projecting each family to spend around $1,991, which is down from last year’s average of $2,016.
