Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley had an update this week on the status of the new Hotel Redevelopment on the former Suettinger Hardware block. Buckley, during an appearance on WOMT 1240 AM’s “Be My Guest” morning show, says that he believes they’ll have another report on the proposed downtown project during the January 21st City Council meeting.
Buckley was also asked about the practice of keeping secret negotiations of businesses or companies moving into a community. The City Manager says ‘that’s important.’
He continues…..”the law does recognize there are instances in negotiating provisions of an agreement of economic development or a property purchase when the public’s best interest is best served by allowing at least for a period of time that discussion to take place outside the public eye.”
