
Two incumbent Manitowoc aldermen are expected to have opposition in the April 2019 election. The first two council candidates have filed their nomination papers with the Manitowoc City Clerk’s office. According to Deputy City Clerk, Mackenzie Reed-Kadow, Rick Zunker filed for alderman in the city’s 2nd district where incumbent Scott McMeans is Council President. Former councilman, Chris Able, has turned in his papers for the 3rd district position currently held by Jeremiah Novak. Both McMeans & Novak have made known their declaration of candidacy forms but have not yet filed nomination papers. The deadline to do so for local & state races is 5 pm Wednesday, January 2nd.
