The 20th anniversary of the Hit and Run death of then 17-year-old Richard Hochstetler of rural Manitowoc is coming up (in 2-weeks) on January 10th, 2019. Richard, who was a senior at Lincoln High School, was struck & killed by a motorist near his residence…while walking home from a friend’s house. The mystery of who the driver was along County CR on that early morning in 1999 has never been solved and outgoing Sheriff Rob Hermann said, it’s still classified as an open investigation.
Hermann tells Seehafer News, ”somebody out there probably knows something about this case.”
The sheriff lamented ”sometimes you don’t get enough information to solve a case and Manitowoc County is not unique to any other agencies with respect to open cases.”
