Motorists traveling Manitowoc’s west-side will have to adjust to an upcoming road closure & detour route beginning early next year. County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer tells Seehafer News that the lengthy shutdown of County Road R starts, next Wednesday, January 2nd.
The newly created four lane highway will become a major arterial, says Ziegelbauer.
After completion ‘R’ will be turned over to the City of Manitowoc. Ziegelbauer explained that project bids came in at one or two percent under budget. The two major contractors for the highway and bridge work are Vinton & Lunda Construction, respectively.
