Two motorcycles crashed about mid-afternoon yesterday in the Town of Two Rivers, one of the riders remains hospitalized in Green Bay. Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Tom Beilke tells Seehafer News today that both cyclists were southbound on Tannery Road just after 3-pm when they stopped for a stop sign and turned west on County V-V. Beilke said both riders, traveling in single file, then proceeded to pass another vehicle at a high rate of speed in a no-passing zone. The first motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve near Riverview Drive and flew over a rock wall, near a home construction site. The victim, identified as 50-year old Brian Hurda of Two Rivers, suffered serious injuries and was initially transported to Aurora Medical Center before he was transferred to a Green Bay facility. The 2nd rider, 27-year old Erik Burt of Manitowoc, slid into the south ditch and overturned. He suffered only minor scrapes & scratches and didn’t require hospitalization. The incidents remain under investigation.
