
A Sheboygan native & children’s book author has quite a story to share. Todd Zimmerman, who now resides in Chicago, wrote “Oliver the Ornament” a story about a family’s collection of Christmas ornaments.
And, each has a great cliff hanger at the end so it gets the kids excited for what’s to come. Early this year, Zimmerman explains, his mother called him to say “you need to get Oliver in the hands of the First Lady who’s always talking about kindness & cyber-bullying causes. The 1982 graduate of Sheboygan South High School said his mom passed-away in March, but he came across her suggestion in August & sent a copy of his book to the White House by way of the Chief of Staff.
It’s a yearly tradition for the military families toys for tots drive. Zimmermann was thrilled with his invitation to Washington, of course, but had to keep it secret until last week, for security reasons. About meeting Melania Trump & hearing her read his book, Todd says.
Seehafer News asked Zimmerman how he came up with the idea?
So, for the next 3 days Todd, who has a background in marketing & advertising, said the idea was spinning in his head, not just as a story but what it could mean as a business.
Todd Zimmermann said his book, packaged in a gift set with a product line, is not available in big box stores but is for sale in select shops, including the Read Apple Toy Store in the basement level at Schroeders in Two Rivers.
