Police say they believe the gas leak that forced two restaurants in Monona to evacuate last Friday was caused intentionally. Police officials say they found a parking sign pulled out of the ground near a damaged gas meter. Police say emergency personnel were called to the restaurant Noodles and Company last Friday at around 9 P-M after an employee of the restaurant reported hearing and smelling gas coming from a broken gas meter. Fire officials evacuated Noodles and Company as well as the Jimmy Johns restaurant next door because the gas leak approached dangerous levels. Police say there were no surveillance cameras near the damaged gas meter and they do not have any suspects in the case.
