Madison Man Who Shot Officer Multiple Times Given 22-Year Sentence

A Madison police officer has told the court he is sure Cornelius Britton was trying to kill him two years ago — just because he wore the uniform.  Britton was given a 22-year prison sentence in Dane County Circuit Court Tuesday.  The Madison man fired multiple shots at the officer who testified against him in court yesterday.  Britton entered a guilty plea to a charge of reckless endangerment in May.
