*UPDATE 9:25 AM*
Power has been restored to the North side of Two Rivers after a wild morning. The Two Rivers Police Department was sent to the 3700 block of Mishicot Road at around 5:45 this morning after it was reported that there was someone looking into vehicles in the area. Officers attempted to make contact with a 23-year-old female inside of a vehicle in the area, when the unnamed woman fled the scene, ramming into a police vehicle in the process. The officers took chase, and the suspect ended up striking a light pole. A 27-year-old man was also arrested for his connection to the incident. While we have not confirmed the number of customers without power, we do know that the northwest quarter of the city was without power. Two Rivers Water and Light has confirmed that power has been restored to those customers. Classes have been canceled at all Two Rivers schools, but after school extracurriculars remain on schedule.
*UPDATE 7:15 AM* Due to the power outage, all Two Rivers schools will be closed today.
*ORIGINAL STORY 6:45 AM*
Citizens in Two Rivers are experiencing a power outage this morning. We spoke with a representative at the Two Rivers Police Department who confirmed the outage and told us that the outage is affecting “pretty much the north end of Two Rivers, and they are working on it.” We asked if they know what caused the outage, and the representative stated that they do know, but are not releasing that information at this time. A formal release is expected to come out after the incident is cleared up.
