A cold-shooting Manitowoc Lincoln boys basketball team suffered its’ 3rd consecutive loss in dropping a 54-39 decision at Pulaski last night. The host Red Raiders, coached by Manitowoc native & Lincoln graduate, Dave Shaw, led 25-18 at intermission before opening as much as a 20-point lead in the 2nd. Mason Dopirak topped the Ships (now 0-2 in the FRCC, 2-and-3-overall) with 16-points, Josh Hoffman added 11. Pulaski featured 3 players in double figures led by Trevor Stiede with 19-points as the Raiders improve to 2-0 in Conference, 3-1 for the season. Coach Shaw and Lincoln’s Thadd Cornell were college roommates at UW-LaCrosse.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lutheran earned a Big East Conference road victory, downing Ozaukee 52-42. Santana Lomibao tossed-in 21-points for the Lancers, now 6-1, 4-1 in conference. Leading scorer Trey Zastrow struggled in the game and finished with just 2-points.
The Valders Girls basketball team stayed undefeated last night with a 79-59 non-conference win over Southern Door. Emma Wagner paced ‘4’ Vikings players in double digits with 20 points. Valders goes to 5-0 and 3-0 in the E-W-C.
The state ranked Roncalli High School Boys Basketball team took on a fellow unbeaten in Fond du Lac last night, and, as Brian Norton reports it was no contest.
