Janesville police say a student at Parker High School was speeding when he caused a fatal accident last October. Ty Matijevich was found to have been driving at more than 80 miles-an-hour as he headed off campus to lunch. He slammed into a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Merilyn Mitchell of Milton, who died at a nearby hospital. Matijevich is charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. If convicted, he could go to prison for 10 years.
