Several pigs had to be rescued from a structure fire in Sheboygan County yesterday afternoon. According to Lieutenant James Gotsacker, the call came in to the Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch Center at around 5:15 PM, reporting the fire at N9066 State Highway 42, in the Town of Herman. They were informed that the fire was on the 2nd floor of the structure, and that the pigs were in danger. Crews from several area Fire Departments responded and were able to bring the blaze under control within 45 minutes of arriving. There was some structural damage, but the pigs were all saved and no injuries were reported.
