Holiday shopping has become a very easy task in modern society. A few clicks of the mouse, and you can buy the latest and greatest toy for the special child in your life, or those concert tickets a loved one really wants. However, with great technology comes those wo wish to exploit it. Scammers are sending emails to individuals that are disguised as shipping alerts as most companies use this practice for their online sales. The email will tell you that there has been a problem with the shipment of an item, and will ask for personal information to “complete the sale.” If the link in the email is clicked, you risk getting a malware virus on your computer. The safest way to ensure it is not a scam is by calling the business that is claiming to have a delayed shipment, and speak to a representative.
