Junior guard Markus Howard scored 45 points to lead Marquette to an 83-71 upset of the previously-undefeated Kansas State Wildcats Saturday. Howard scored 26 of his points as his Golden Eagles team built a 44-33 lead over K-State in the first half. Sacar Anim, with 16, was the only other Marquette player in double figures. Marquette hit 68 percent of its shots during the first half and 57 percent overall. The Eagles return to action at the Fiserv Forum Tuesday against the University of Texas-El Paso.
