Duluth firefighters say strong winds caused an ice floe to break away from Park Point Saturday morning, stranding almost three dozen ice fishermen. The first calls came in shortly before 11:00 A-M. The high winds pushed Superior Lake water levels higher, separating the ice from the beach and it floated out into the bay. Emergency responders say it took about an hour to get all of the fishermen to shore — with no injuries reported.
