A 40 year old Antigo man is preparing to stand trial for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend. Cory Brown entered a not guilty plea on several charges related to the event. Brown allegedly beat his ex-girlfriend unconscious, and strangled her as well. When police found her in her Crandon home, she was bleeding from her temple, and had bruises and scratches on her face and neck. She told police that he threatened to kill her, saying “You’re lucky I don’t have a gun right now or I’d kill you.” Brown’s jury trial is scheduled for January 16th and 17th.
