Brown County Sheriff’s officers and the Suamico Fire Department responded late last night to a two vehicle crash on northbound I-41. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Christopher Knurr said personnel were informed the cars were on fire while they were en route to the scene in the Village of Suamico about 10:30pm. A northbound vehicle crashed into an unoccupied, disabled unit on the right shoulder of the highway and the ‘driver’ told authorities he “thinks” he remembers crawling out of his vehicle before it started on fire. The 25-year old New London area man suffered only minor chest injuries and was transported to a local hospital. One of the vehicles that was placed on a flatbed truck for transport started back on fire and had to be extinguished by firefighters.
