The Department of Natural Resources reports Wisconsin hunters harvested more deer during the nine-day gun season, even though fewer hunters were in the field. The 211,430 deer taken represent a seven-percent increase over last year. The number of hunters purchasing some form of gun deer license was down by more than two-percent. It was the safest gun deer season on record, with only three injuries related to firearms.
