Manitowoc Man Arrested After Physical Altercation

A Manitowoc man was arrested over the weekend after he was in a physical altercation with a woman. Police were called to an apartment on the 1600 block of Madison Street at around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, after they were informed of a fight. A friend of the victim spoke to the police, and said she heard what sounded like a person being thrown against a wall, with screams of “No” accompanying the sound. Shortly after, the victim knocked on her door and asked her to call 911. Officers were able to make contact with the man involved via phone, after it was discovered he was not in the apartment. He refused to give his location before hanging up. The man is still at large, and is believed to have fled to North Carolina. He is facing charges of Substantial Battery, False Imprisonment, and Criminal Damage to Property.
