The Two Rivers City Council held a meeting last night, and part of that meeting was set aside for the public to voice their opinions on the proposed 2019 city budget. We spoke with City Manager Greg Buckley, who told us even though there weren’t any citizens of the Cool City at the meeting, the Council won’t take action until next week
Buckley says that he city isn’t proposing any significant new revenue sources this year, but spending will be up a little.
The City Manager also says that the city is expecting an increase in sewer rates by about 4%. With all funds taken into account the budget is right around $33 million. General spending is expected to take up $10.3 million, utilities at $16 million capital improvement projects taking up the remaining roughly $6.7 million.
