Sheboygan County held a drug take back day last month, and the numbers have finally been released. The Sheboygan Police Department says that over 1,000 pounds of unused prescription medications were collected from the various sites throughout the county. The purpose of the take back day is to ensure the proper disposal of unused medication, by providing a safe and convenient place to do so. The day is also used to educate the public on why proper disposal is so important.
