The Jefferson County Humane Society says a woman was keeping dozens of animals at her home before she was evicted this week. Five cats and five dogs were rescued Thursday as the woman was being forced to leave. Her name hasn’t been released and no charges have been filed. Rescuers found the body of a dead kitten and an elderly dog had to be euthanized. Even though she has no home, the woman was allowed to keep five dogs and eight guinea pigs.
