The USDA Farm Service Agency FSA offers protection from weather related conditions for producers who grow crops that are not eligible through the Federal Crop Insurance Program. This program, known as the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program, or NAP is specifically tailored for producers of perennial crops. The deadline to purchase coverage for 2019 perennial crops is November 20th. This includes crops such as strawberries, apples, maple sap, raspberries, grapes, honey, other orchard crops, and any other perennial crops. If you have any questions, you should contact your local FSA Office.
