Several employees of Holy Family Memorial Hospital are now searching for new jobs. The healthcare facility had to eliminate 35 positions and reduce the number of hours for around 50 others. We were able to sit down with CEO and President of Holy Family Brett Norell who explained the situation.
According to Norell, the second reason is due to reimbursement declining, which is an issue that is impacting hospitals and clinics all over.
While the number of positions affected seems rather high, it should be noted that the same number of employees were not let go.
As for the employees with reduced hours, some are only seeing their time reduced by around four hours. Norell told us it’s always hard to let people go, but if a change was not made the entire system could have gone down, meaning everyone would be without a job.
