The Green Bay Packers cut safety Jermaine Whitehead Tuesday in the latest of a series of moves to remake the roster in the middle of a 3-4-1 season. Whitehead is gone at least partially for the swing he took at Patriots center David Andrews during Sunday night’s game. He’s also off the roster because General Manager Brian Gutekunst saw him as a marginal talent at an important position. The Packers feel they need someone with true safety ability and better size. Whitehead joins Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and running back Ty Montgomery on the list of Packer players shown the door in the last two weeks.
