The polls are now open, and voters in the lakeshore area and Manitowoc County are going to the polls today to cast ballots in Congressional, State Senate and Assembly races. Incumbent 6th district congressman Glen Grothman has a challenge from democrat Dan Kohl. In the 9th Senate district: current legislator Devin Lemahieu is opposed by democrat Kyle Whelton in the 1st district, Caleb Frostman, who was voted in during a special election this summer, faces Republican Andre Jacque. In the 25th Assembly district: incumbent Paul Tittl faces democratic opponent Jennifer Estrada, while in the 2nd district, there’s a 4 way runoff involving Democrat Mark Grams, Republican Shae Sortwell, Libertarian Kevin Bauer and Independent Jeff Dahlke.
In addition residents of the Kiel School District are being asked to support 2 referendum questions: one for an upgrade to athletic facilities and another for construction of a new Performing Arts Center. And, a statewide question on the election ballot to close the Darkstore Loophole.
