The Manitowoc County Finance Committee gathered last night, and among the items they discussed was Progress Lakeshore. The cities of Manitowoc, Kiel and Two Rivers are all financially supporting the initiative to promote the lakeshore area and improve economic development, and the county was initially as well, but has since dropped out. Supervisor John Brunner says that the investment is not a small one, at $60,000, but “our area NEEDS an organization who’s primary focus is economic development .” The support was brought up during discussion regarding the 2019 budget, and passed by a vote of 3-2. It will now go on to the County Board during their meeting on Thursday.
