Wisconsin election officials report more than 547-thousand absentee and early vote ballots were cast in the mid-term election before the polls opened. A lot of the push by volunteers has been focused on getting young voters to cast their ballots. The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement reports about 12-and-a-half-million registered youth voters didn’t show up during the 2014 mid-term. Transportation is said to be one of the biggest hurdles for voters who don’t make it to the polls.
