A teacher in the Mishicot School District has been honored by the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance as the 2018 Wisconsin Rural Teacher of the Year. Justin Gerlach received his award at the annual Rural Schools Conference on October 29. The alliance described Gerlach as “…an outstanding teacher, and life-long learner who seeks to teach students how to form real world connections between his curriculum and the greater community.” Gerlach has been an educator for fifteen years, holding roles such as HS Biology Teacher, HS and MS Spanish Teacher, HS Agriscience Teacher, Coaching track and cross-country, advising FFA, National Honors Society, and Global Connections.
