It’s a FIRST for Silver Lake College Athletics! The Lakers’ Volleyball team recently qualified for the USCAA National Tournament in Virginia Beach from November 8th through the 10th. Cam Tiberg, Sports Information Director at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, says the Lakers earned the #4 seed…in the Four-team Division-1 field. They’ll open pool play against top-seeded University of Maine Fort Kent 25-&-6, next Thursday morning at 10:30 CDT. SLC of the Holy Family had a 9-&-14-record, but finished strong down-the-stretch, winning two of their final 3 matches. Head Coach Emily Lensmire says she’s “thrilled for the opportunity for her team to show its’ talent at nationals and, they’re excited to be there for the first time in school history.” The Lakers were led statistically by junior middle, Tasha Rabe, a junior from Kiel, freshman setter Rachel Kluba of Manitowoc, and Alma Vazquez-Nunez a freshman from Spain.
