A spokesman for the Wisconsin Public Defender’s office says one of its attorneys shouldn’t have been tossed in jail last week. Randy Kraft says the Friday actions by the Milwaukee County judge are unacceptable. Kraft says public defenders are supposed to be “zealous advocates” for the rights of their clients. The unnamed public defender was arrested, handcuffed and put in belly chains for his actions in the courtroom.
