Authorities say speed was a factor in an early morning (Tuesday) crash that killed a driver in Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at around 2:30 A-M at the intersection of County Road I and State Highway 23 in the Town of Lamartine. Investigators say a vehicle was traveling south on County Road I when it went through a stop sign at Highway 23. deputies say the car traveled through a yard and hit a tree before bursting into flames. Lamartine firefighters were able to put out the fire. Deputies say the driver died at the scene. The crash is under investigation. The name of the victim has not been released.
