People that end up addicted to opioids tend to get hooked due to a prescription given to them by a doctor. This problem has led to deaths related to the drugs at the highest rate in the state’s history. We recently had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Ana Fuentavilla from the United Health Group Opioid Task Force, she told Seehafer News that you should always ask what your doctor is prescribing you.
If the prescription is needed, ask one simple follow up question.
If the opioid is the only option available be absolutely certain to ask how it will interact with any other medication you are taking.
According to Dr. Fuentavilla, you should also always ask what the lowest possible dosage is you can take. Follow these steps, don’t over use your prescription, and you should have little to no risk of becoming addicted.
