With the recent unemployment numbers showing a continued downward trend, it is becoming harder and harder for employers to fill positions. It’s being reported that there are over 400 jobs available in the city of Sturgeon Bay alone. In an attempt to fill those positions, companies in the city are holding “Manufacturing Day” tours, with 12 businesses taking part. The businesses are all within a few block stretch of South Neenah Avenue, and will allow potential workers into their facilities tomorrow from 8:00 AM to Noon. Manufacturing accounts for 20% of Door County’s gross domestic product, so keeping these facilities running is paramount to the success of the entire area.
