The WIAA High School football playoffs continue tonight with 112 teams still alive in their quest for state titles. Two of those teams reside in Manitowoc County as the Reedsville Panthers travel to Hilbert for a Division Seven-Level Two game against the Wolves while the Kiel Raiders host the Spartans of Martin Luther in Division Four. Both Reedsville and Hilbert come into tonight’s game with identical records of 9 and 1 recording impressive first round wins. The Panthers routed Suring 60 to 6 while the Wolves defeated Rosholt 42 to 19. Both teams hail from the Big East conference but didn’t play each other this season. In Division Four—Eastern Wisconsin Conference champion Kiel will have their hands full tonight as they host 9 and 1 Martin Luther from the Metro Classic conference. The undefeated (10 and 0) Raiders cruised to a 40 to 6 win over University School of Milwaukee last Friday while the Spartans crushed Campbellsport 53 to 6. Senior Darios Crawley-Reid is arguably the best running back in the state as he’s rushed for over 4,000 yards and 76 touchdowns since the start of last season. In 2018 the Spartan standout has run for 1950 yards on only 144 attempts and scored 39 touchdowns and is a finalist for the Elroy “Crazy Legs” award as the state’s top running back. You can tune in to hear Reedsville and Hilbert on 980 WCUB and cubradio.com with John Johnson and Joe Kubsch while the Kiel-Martin Luther contest will air on WQTC 102.3 FM and wqtcfm.com with Brian Norton and Scotty Paulow. Air-time is 6:40 with kickoff at 7 on both stations tonight.
