As we get closer and closer to the Mid-Term election next month, candidates and special interest groups are pushing more and more to encourage you to vote. One way these groups are doing this is by sending post cards to electors encouraging citizens to vote using the absentee ballot. However according to Manitowoc County Clerk Lois Kiel, the post card failed to indicate that the elector must be registered to vote and must also submit a copy of their photo ID along with the postcard in order for the municipal clerk to fulfill the elector’s absentee ballot request. The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail or email from your municipal clerk is 5 p.m. Thursday, November 1. In person absentee voting is set by each municipality. Contact your municipal clerk for more information.
