Home sales in Manitowoc County have fallen sharply. In September, 93 homes were sold, compared to the same month last year, a 24.4% decline. The median price followed a similar path, dropping from 115,000 to $112,000. Homes are however staying on the market for a shorter amount of time. Last September, homes would be listed for sale for an average of 115 days, but this year, they are averaging 81 days, nearly 30% fewer days. These numbers do follow a statewide trend, as sales dropped 12% from last year. The new WRA board chairman Jean Stefaniak says this may be due to “an aberration following a strong August.”
