Student at Greendale High School marched outside the building Monday in support of a classmate who had been suspended. Chanese Knox tells reporters she was disciplined for standing up to a fellow student who repeatedly used a racial slur against her twice in back-to-back days last September in a confrontation that wasn’t physical. Her mother and the supporters say they won’t be silent, calling the incident an example of a systemic problem in the district. Officials won’t say if the other student was suspended.
